It is appropriate that I take this moment to ‘count’ my blessings. I can think of no better way than to recall and share the lyric of the song COUNT YOUR BLESSING by Bing Crosby. The song is featured in one of my favorite films: THE BELLS OF ST. MARY’S.
When I’m worried and I can’t sleep
I count my blessings instead of sheep
And I fall asleep counting my blessings
When my bankroll is getting small
I think of when I had none at all
And I fall asleep counting my blessings
I think about a nursery and I picture curly heads
And one by one I count them as they slumber in their beds

This is certainly the time of year when we can all be mindful of our blessings be they large or small – good health, family, friends, food to eat and a roof over our heads just to mention a few. Many people are so less fortunate due to no fault of their own.
