Health Snowflake

Winter is the season of snowflakes…well, in some regions anyway. I have been on a quest for the perfect crocheted snowflake pattern and finally decided to make my own to share for #FlawlessFebruary.

The Power of Words

ONE PERSON-Lyrics by Jerry Herman
One person can beat a drum
And make enough noise for ten;
One person can blow a horn
And that little boom
And that little blare
Can make a hundreds others care.

And one person can hold a torch
And light up the sky again.
And one little voice that’s squeaking a song,
Can make a million voices strong.

If one person can beat a drum,
And one person can blow a horn,
If one person can hold a torch,
Then one person can change the world!

There may be an army of them
And only a handful of us,
And how can a poor little band fight a mighty regime.
There may be a legion of them,
And only a parcel of us,
But it isn’t the size of the first,
It’s the size of a dream!

I am on a one person campaign to STOP the perpetuation of compassionless language used to describe mental illness.

Will you join me and help stop the casual use of words like ‘crazy’ and ‘psycho’ ‘bonkers’ ‘lunatic’ ‘screw loose’ when describing a person suffering the ravages of a disease that consumes 1 in 4, (450 million) people world wide according to the WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION.

Remove these words of describing a person suffering mental illness from your speech. This simple decision will go a long way to removing the stigma and promoting mental health.

Thank you from the deepest, most tender part of my heart.
