Stories from the Heart

I sometimes receive a Hide A Heart order over which I muse. Like the one from a soldier stationed in Iraq who purchased a HAH from Amazon.com. I have been reeling from and wondering about that order ever since! A solider in Iraq!???? OMG!!!

I wonder if it was because one of the soldiers to whom I sent supplies during the holidays last year shared with another solider the fact that a HAH had been tucked among the supplies in each box as an additional ‘hug from home’ ? I wonder if this solider was planning to send the HAH to his/her mother for Mother’s Day? I wonder if this soldier is planning to mail the HAH back and forth between where he/she is stationed to his wife or her husband back home as his/her romantic gift’? I wonder if this solider has a new relationship to nurture?  I’ll probably never really know, but the ’wonder musing’ makes me smile.

When I receive purple heart orders for hospital patients, customers include loving messages of encouragement and comfort. One such message left an indelible impression, “Your family misses you. Your family needs you. Your family is in your kitchen….better get home soon!”

From time to time I receive little notes from folks who have received a Hide A Heart. I occasionally share some of the comments on this page.

Let me add, YOU always have an open invitation to share your thoughts about giving, receiving or the response of the recipient upon receiving a Hide A Heart.

May your heart be inspired.

“Thank you SO VERY MUCH for the beautiful little heart saying hope and healing. Now the heart is laying here by my computer, where I can look and touch it every day. I will bring it to the hospital. I am sure that it will help me.” Annette K

“MCatherine– What a Beautiful gift. For right now I’m keeping it for myself while I’m healing–sorry I didn’t get back to you sooner but I’ve been pretty tired. I’ll find out next week if I have to have more treatment so I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I don’t. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family–you certainly brightened up my life!” Jeri K.

“Thank you so much for attending our engagement party! It was so much fun to introduce friends and family before the big day. And Thank You for the “Hide a Heart”–Wat a great idea. I already hid it in Tab’s suitcase to Eugene! Thanks again.” Tab & Abby

I just got a Petsympathy heart for a friend who lost a beloved dog. The heart and packaging are beautiful and being able to have the pet’s name personalized on the heart makes is a really wonderful gift. So much nicer than a card. This is something that will be a reminder of her dear pet and a caring friend for years to come.

  • Great post, really like your blog.

  • Do any of your visitors encounter browser compatibility difficulties? I tried browsing the page using Opera and that is fine but being a Safari person, I like it would have the same appear and feel? I actually never know if this is something coming from my side or maybe if someone might adjust something from your end. And so in the mean time I should remember to visit your web site with IE or similar, which isn’t my favourite browser. I am sorry if I am appearing picky and hope I’m not alone with this issue. Regards.

Thank you for taking the time to draw my attention to this issue. I took a look at the blog using the Safari browser and did not find an issue, so it may be something with your computer. I normally write the post using Firefox, but maybe I’ll switch around once in a while.

  • I recently sent a Purple Hope & Healing Heart to a close friend who is going through chemotherapy, and she sent a note back to me which said in part, “My dear friend! I just received a most beautiful gift in the mail today! I am so honored to have received a purple heart from you! Thank you so much.” Thank you for a beautiful product that can help people share their love and concern for one another in a tangible way.
